Three free Community Shred Days serve more than 1,800 disposing of nearly 29 tons of sensitive materials Posted on August 17, 2017

Three annual Oregon State Credit Union Free Community Shred Days in Albany, Corvallis and Keizer served more than 1,800 residents with secure disposal of 57,743 pounds of sensitive documents this year. In addition, the credit union took in 1,837 pounds of food and another $1,100 in cash donations for the local Food Shares during the events.

Two of the three Oregon State Credit Union annual Free Community Shred Days in Albany and Corvallis have already accepted more than 20 tons of sensitive materials with a final event scheduled for Keizer on Saturday, July 29 open to the public, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the parking lot behind the credit union branch at 4952 River Road North. In addition, the credit union is continuing its partnership with Marion-Polk Food Share to accept food and cash donations on their behalf during the event.

Oregon State Credit Union invites the community to a free document shred day on Saturday, April 22, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Linn County Fairgrounds, 3700 Knox Butte Road East in Albany. The event will include support and presence from the Community Resource Unit of the Albany Police Department combating identity theft and an opportunity to donate canned foods to the Linn Benton Food Share.
