Benton County Shred Day Delivers Big for the Community

Benton County Shred Day Delivers Big for the Community

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our  Benton County Shred Day  — it was a fantastic day of community connection, secure document disposal, and giving back.

At Oregon State Credit Union, financial well‑being includes helping members safeguard their personal and financial information. Shred Day is an important part of that commitment, providing a free, secure way to dispose of sensitive documents while reducing the risk of identity theft and fraud.

Together, we:

  • Served 465 vehicles
  • Filled all three shred trucks
  • Raised $1,086 for Linn Benton Food Share (including a $500 donation from Oregon State Credit Union)

From start to finish, it was great to see our community come together to safely dispose of sensitive documents while supporting a local organization that helps so many in need.

We’re grateful to everyone who participated and helped make the day such a success.

Why Shred Day Matters to OSCU

Shred Day reflects who we are as a credit union — local, member‑focused, and community‑driven. By offering free shred events, we help protect personal information, promote responsible financial habits, and support organizations that strengthen the places we live and work.

These events go beyond document destruction. They’re about education, prevention, and partnership — helping our members and neighbors stay secure while uplifting local nonprofits that serve critical needs.
