Overdraft Program
Life happens. If a payment hits when your balance is low, we offer two ways to help you avoid hassle and keep things moving.
It’s personal, it’s collective, and it’s all connected.
Our Overdraft Program has your back
There are times when your account funds are low or funds are on hold, and a large charge comes through. Our Overdraft Program offers two options that can step in and cover the impending overdraft, saving you money and stress when life throws off your balance: Overdraft Protection and Courtesy Payment. Enrollment is easy and it’s a practical way to keep you covered and protect your finances.
Overdraft Protection (transfer)
What if your paycheck posted tomorrow, but rent is due today? Overdraft Protection steps in to save the day, automatically transferring funds from a backup source account you choose. Essentially, the money you need is moved from one account to the other.
- Avoid paying overdraft/NSF fee(s) when a transfer covers the purchase
- Predictable protection: your purchase will go through, and you keep moving forward
- Simple setup: enrollment is free, quick, and easy
- You choose the back-up account: Savings, second checking, Money Market, Visa credit card, Personal Line of Credit, Student Line of Credit
- Transfers from lines of credit or credit cards are unlimited as long as there are funds in those accounts, but they begin to accrue interest the day of the transfer.
- Enroll at one of our branches or call our Member Service Center at 541-714-4000.
Courtesy Payment (non-sufficient funds)
You try to pay at a gas pump, but you don’t know your account is short, and have not set up Overdraft Protection. Courtesy Payment covers the payment so you can get on your way. This service may pay certain transactions up to an approved limit. Courtesy Payment is discretionary and not guaranteed; availability can change day to day.
Learn what Courtesy Payment may cover, and if you’re automatically covered or need to opt in:
- One-time Payments — Must Opt in
- ATM — Must Opt in
- Checks — Included for members
- ACH (electronic payments) — Included for members

- Recurring debits — Included for members

Overdraft Protection and Courtesy Pay details
When we decide whether a transaction can be paid, we first look at your available balance.
- Your available balance = your actual balance minus holds for recent deposits and pending card authorizations.
Hotels, car rentals, and some gas stations may place temporary holds that reduce your available balance until the final amount posts. Those holds can affect whether Courtesy Pay is used or a transaction is declined.
If your account goes negative, please bring it back to a positive balance within 30 days.
- Enroll at one of our branches or call our Member Service Center at 541-714-4000
- You will be asked to select a back-up account as your overdraft protection source: Savings, second checking, Money Market, Visa®, Personal Line of Credit (PLOC), or Student LOC)
- Transfers from lines of credit or credit cards are unlimited as long as there are funds in those accounts, but they begin to accrue interest the day of the transfer
- No fee to set-up
