Employee/member support

When crisis comes, communication is vital and reassuring. The coronavirus pandemic created uncertainty, anxiety, isolation, loneliness and a host of other human challenges. As a way to encourage and inspire our staff and thank our members for their amazing patience and grace shown during significant operational changes, our Board Chair Shannon Cruz wrote a letter that was posted on our website. Here’s a response from one of our members: “Your corporate message sounded like a neighborhood family business. It sounded that way because that’s what you are. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to be a part of Oregon State Credit Union. I trust that you are working for my best interests and the interests of our community. Thank you.”

As an essential service provider, Oregon State Credit Union recognized financial support during the pandemic was important, but emotional support for our members and staff made a difference.

Community impact

Oregon State Credit Union was there to help our small business members with the SBA/PPP – Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Credit union staff worked tirelessly with our members to make sure applications submitted were complete and ready for approval and funding. One small business owner said, “My heartfelt thanks for the incredible, and very timely, speed in which you made the approval and funding of our PPP loan happen.”

Another said, “I have peers across the nation who aren’t sure if their apps are even complete. They don’t know either way. Our funds were approved and disbursed within four days! Thank you.”

We are here to serve our members … they matter most.
